Something
just hit me the other night, when I was lying in bed reading a book. My mind
wouldn't shut off as I was trying to concentrate on reading. I thought, maybe I
should start a blog (incidentally my books main character was a blogger)! I
never had much luck keeping a written journal updated. I love to write, when I
have a chance, and since I spend most of my free time on my computer anyway...I
said to myself, “why not?”
So, here I
am...I live in a small town in Kentucky (Yes, dare I say, in the mountains!)
I'm a daughter, sister, wife and mother of two--my son is 4 years old and my
daughter is only 7 weeks old. I enjoy lots of stuff and like to stay busy;
although having two kids doesn’t leave a great deal of time to do much of
anything else. My go to activity, my “getaway”, is to read—I love books, mainly
romance mysteries. Some of my favorite authors are Janet Evanovich, Joanne
Fluke, Leslie Meier, Nicholas Sparks, and my list goes on and on. I enjoy
family time, Church, crafting, shopping, traveling (mainly to the beach),
watching my fav television shows and movies, and anything that is down to
earth, good ol’ fashion fun!
Two years
ago I began as a stay-at-home Mom, my decision. I resigned from my job of 8
years, which I loved (still do). My son was two years old, going on three; and
I had missed lots of memories with him while working fulltime. I felt guilty
for working so much and took the opportunity to stay home with him while I
could. After staying home with our 4 year old we became pregnant last year with
our second child. Although, I do work part-time on an as needed basis; as an
Instructional Assistant substitute. I also volunteer in my Church as the Sunday
school teacher. Those positions help me feel as if I’m working and my children
do keep me busy. But, I do have to admit, I miss my job terribly—even after two
years. Once my son is in school full time and my daughter is a little older I
definitely want to find my way back to my former employer, if they will have
me.
That’s just
a little bit of my background…stay tuned for more to come…
God Bless!
